I hope those people really are just naîve and think they are on the side of peace. But then again they must be acutely aware that Israel will not let them pass, so whatever happens will also partially be their fault.

Update: After repeated requests from Israel to turn around and subsequent non-compliance from the ship, it was boarded by Iraeli soldiers. No one attacked the soldiers and no one got hurt. Kudos to both parties for keeping their heads cool in a very heated situation.

Unfortunately, there is this thing called internet. On YouTube you can see some original footage that makes you question the whole story. Here’s a spokesperson of the Free Gaza movement, stating towards the end that the passengers on board the ship did not, repeat: not, arm themselves prior to being boarded:

But looking at the footage from the survailleance camera onboard the turkish ship, tells a very, very different story:

In the same interview, the spokesperson states that the soldiers attacked the passengers first. Looking at the following footage, one can see the first soldier arriving, and he is immedeatly attacked, beaten with poles. Others soldiers are dragged to the ground, one is thrown down from the ship. First towards the end of the clip can you see that the soldiers have drawn their guns.

Also, it is repeated over and over again, that all passengers were peaceful civilians. Here’s an interview with one of those so-called peace-seekers:

Update: a serial rapist has just gotten his sentence reduced. He has been convicted of 8 cases of serious, violent rapes, for which he originally received a sentence of 15 years. This has now been reduced to 12 years. His crimes had been especially hideous, where the victims had feared for their life during the assault. One victim took her own life, the others will never get over their abuse. So, according to the highest court in Norway, ruining a person’s life gets you 1.5 years in a comfortable prison, all expenses paid.

In the meantime the bureau for statistics published that about 1/4 of the Norwegian population goes to the dentist less than once a year. In northern Norway one in six people have not been to the dentist the past two years.

Meanwhile the majority (as in 99%) of journalists put all the blame for the Gaza-convoy debacle on Israel. Thankfully, a select few are more balanced and recognize that there are always two parties to any conflict. Without balance, there will never be a solution.

I’m sorry, but this is just sick. You are a coward if you beat up persons who are weaker than you – ever more so if you are supposed to take care of them. You are mentally deranged if you connect the act of physically hurting someone with love and compassion.

Spokesman Fahad Qureshi furthermore refuses to comment on Yee’s words, giving the impression that he is agreeing. Reminds me of the protests earlier this year when 3.000 muslims silently stood by while the speaker urged muslims to torture homosexuals to death. I wish Qureshi would have taken note of Basim Ghozlan of the Islamic union, who made a clear statement by calling Yee’s comments “idiotic”. Kudos, Mr. Ghozlan.

Should we accept cruelty to children because it is part of a supposed “culture” or “tradition”? Of course not.

Crime should pay

Thanks to the very lax border patrols, free movement for everyone in the EU and understaffed police, the past year has seen a huge increase in organized crime from abroad. Typically, criminals from eastern Europe would come to Norway for the sole purpose of committing crimes. Even in the rare cases where they did get caught and the police would find space in a local prison to actually keep them for their trial and they subsequently got a prision sentence, criminals in Norwegian prisions are getting paid. Every single day. Thus, a typical eastern European criminal who gets caught, will likely find himself in a better housing situation that at home, while getting paid about as much as if he’d found an honest occupation for himself in his homeland. In other words, Norwegian politicians have made it almost mandatory (in the sense of: you are stupid if you don’t do it) for people from poor countries to commit crimes.

Now some politicians have thought aloud that foreign criminals should be prosecuted here in Norway, but serve their sentence in their home country – thus making a prison sentence actually a deterrent rather than a free stay in a luxurious full service hotel. Jump in trusty Left party, who always seem more concerned with their ideology, rather than what normal people worry about. They suggest that Norway should pay for erecting prisons in those countries, to ensure that criminals who commit crimes in Norway are treated to high quality imprisonment. In other words, the Left party wants to build a two-class system of criminals in other countries. Crap prisons for those stupid enough to commit crimes at home. Lovely prisons for those who traveled to Norway to commit those crimes.

I’m sorry, but isn’t that what the Olympics is partially about, feeling proud about your country and the achievements?

These are the same people who look down on the 17th of may processions (Norway’s day of independence).

Thankfully, and naturally, most women beg to disagree.

Equality is good and important, but this is just plain stupid.

Meanwhile a prolific 75-year old lesbian has invited Muhammad to a public meeting where he could stone her. Kudos to her.

Meanwhile, foreign minster Jonas Gahr Støre is happy with Norway’s support of Quaran schools in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, during today’s “dialogue meeting” between Muslim leaders and Dagbladet. When one member of the audience asked Dagbladet’s journalist if he would like to see his mum depicted as a whore, the panel did not object. When another drew a parallel between the shots that started World War One and Dabladet’s publishing of a caricature there was again an astounding lack of objection by the panel. (To me this sounds like another threat against Norway, but that is just me.)

Meanwhile, some Muslim leaders had a meeting with Dagbladet. Newly converted Per Yousef Assadiq (be careful when pronouncing his last name in English) is quoted as saying that he “didn’t convert to be harassed.” The majority of the event was spent talking about the negative attention that Muslims have received the past few days. Because, really, all that the media focused on this was: a Muslim threatening the state, a Muslim approving the slaughter of homosexuals, laying down their work for private matters and threatening to shoot journalists.

Maybe they should focus that none of the 3.000 Muslims that witnessed the threat to Norway actually started killing anyone that day. Awesome. Hey, there were even 2 or three women allowed to walk in the open space.

None of the Taxi drivers that went on strike during work time, claimed state benefit during those 2 hours. Yippee.

While none of the Muslim leaders have suggested to exclude Mohammad from their church, at least none of them has publicly supported him. Yeah.

And finally, look how friendly the police has been to the person who almost promised a 9/11 for Norway. They waited a couple of days and threats later, before they ransacked his house, and surprisingly did not find anything incriminating. See, he is good guy.

Mohammad: “Why are you sitting outside my parent’s home? I no longer live here.” (He happens to have his officially registered address there. So, a minor offense here.)

Journalist: “We only want to talk to you.”

Mohammad: “If you don’t leave, you will be shot.”

Journalists: “We only want to talk with you.”

Mohammad: “There are people on their way to shoot you now.”

The Journalists chose to leave.

Meanwhile the leader for the Islamic unity said that Mohammad was not quite ready yet.

I don’t know about you guys, but think this is missing a very necessary sharper tone.
